A New Book

When I was first instructed to write the book “How to Have Your Second Comforter” earlier this year, the Lord said it would be a blessing for some and despised by others. I had never written a book before, so I was nervous as to how it would be received. The Lord just smiled.

It took only a week to write it, and then over two months to carefully edit it so that it would be clearly understood. My fear was that it would be criticized for how it was written. Since then the book has been complimented for its smooth readability, but the sticking point is the content. Of course the fact that it was written anonymously irritates some as well. If I had included my name in it I would have been criticized in other ways. I wrote it this way to allow people to focus on the content and not the author.

Now, that it has been in circulation about six months, the book has been read by many. I don’t know precisely the numbers because I handed everything over to the publisher. When it first came out it had nothing but positive reviews. I expected worse, as the Lord had said. The publisher placed the book as a Kindle on Amazon under “Mormonism” and “Latter Day Saints.” The first few months the book was rated very highly, and then it began a steady decline as comments from people who found the book unacceptable began to come in. These comments have become increasingly angry and vitriol. I shouldn’t be surprised, because the Lord said this would be the case. Here is some examples of the comments written: https://www.amazon.com/How-Have-Your-Second-Comforter-ebook/product-reviews/B01G7B1B12/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=recent#R3LK3UOVZCNN4D

I have been instructed to write another book and I have no desire to do this. I feel like I’m only opening myself to ridicule from the same people bent on smearing what is taught in the book. This time I will not go through a publisher and will not have it placed where unprepared latter-day saints will accidentally read it. This book is not for everyone. As I stated in the book: “It was written for a select few who would be drawn to it and have a desire to learn about the topic we call “The Second Comforter.”

If you have a copy of the book, please only share with those you have prayerfully considered. May God bless each of you as you seek to come to Him and the blessings He has promised.

How vile those comments are. It makes sense that you desire to know more of Paul, since he wrote so much regarding suffering and afflictions, and how to find joy in them. I hope the next book will not unleash such ugliness. How unfortunate for those who took the time to discourage reading it. I found it helpful. Maybe I ought to write a review.

Your blog fell into my lap just this morning. I have been reading it steadily, as well as your book. I have no words other than, THANK YOU! I am an author as well, at least I have been. If you want any help with your second book, like editing or beta reading, I would be happy to help. Truly.

That said, I have been praying to receive my second comforter for a while now. It has taken a while to get where I am, but things keep pointing me in the right direction. In fact, I started a fast just yesterday, asking to be able to see the Lord face to face, and then today, wha la, here’s your blog. If that doesn’t blow my mind, I don’t know what can! Anyway, thank you again. Your book and blog are exactly what I needed.
