I wrote the following: ”I asked if my revelation regarding Dominions and Dispensations when studying the Hierarchy of Angels was correct and was told, “Yes.” There are eight major dispensations starting with Adam and ending with Joseph Smith, with the seventh about to begin. These dispensations are broken down with “Times,” in which certain things transpire. I am grateful for the clarification.” (A Witness of the Temporal Dispensations, pg. 15)

There are eight total dispensations. Joseph Smith is the head of the sixth, which is ending. Each dispensation is the opening of a seal which restores a specific priesthood. The priesthood which will be restored in the Seventh Dispensation is the higher priesthood of Melchizedek. This is required to usher in the Times of the Gathering of Israel and establishment of Zion.

“And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.” Revelation 7:2-4

From the servants of God will be selected a group that will go forth and gather the remnants of the House of Israel. This will usher in the Seventh Dispensation before the coming of the Lord. The Last Dispensation begins at the end of the Millennium.

  1. I enjoy your shared writings so much. Thank you. However, this one is not clear to me. How is Joseph Smith head of the 6th dispensation, but the also the ending of the eighth dispensation? I am sorry, but I must have missed something. Can you help me, please?

  2. Joseph is the head of the 6th dispensation, but the next two are not the same person.

As we seek the Lord on this topic, specifically the identity and circumstances that will surround the appearance of the Lord’s choice servants and His “strange act”, is there any reading you would recommend to get us asking the right questions to the Lord? For example, are there types and shadows you see in Jeremiah and Uriah, Abinidi and Alma, or others? Is Nephi using Isaiah to help us understand the appearance of new servants among His apostate, covenant people in the last days?

  4. Anthony says:

Please can you point to any further understanding… Who is the root of Jesse to whom the Gentiles shall seek? How might he be recognized? Are there any clear scriptural types of him?

Thank you. Have you been taught about time? How it works, I’m Just curious, I don’t know why but I’m been very interested on thistopic. Also, we are so asleep, there is so much pain in Guatemala right now, and I see people so disconnected, but I know there is pain everywhere, I just wish I could have the power to go back in time and safe as many people as possible, especially children, but I know that God is perfect and has a plan for everything and everyone. This has been weighing heavy on my heart.

  10. I have not been taught about time, but have experienced strange anomalies during times in the Heavenly Realm. That is a good question. Yes, it is heart breaking to see the suffering of those in Guatemala. In some ways it has brought that nation closer together.

  12. I’ve been pondering Doctrine & Covenants 101:44-62 lately, a parable of the nobleman and olive trees. I’ve felt that the sixth dispensation began with the creation of the vineyard in the latter days, which is the later day church established by Joseph Smith. If that is true and we follow the parable through to today, we are presently in a state of being “very slothful” and not following the Lord’s commandments – at least not those concerning important things like “raising a tower and setting a watch,” whatever thing that represents in our collective observance of the commandments. It also means the vineyard is about to be run through and taken over, if not already by the cares and worldly standards of Babylon. The servants to be called, and the “servant” who the Lord puts in charge of the rest, I would assume are the Davidic Servant and other gatherers who are sealed by the higher priesthood. Do you have any comments on this parable and where we are in the scheme of it? Thanks so much again for your insights.

  13. It is also connected to Jacob 5. Those who have ears to hear and eyes to see will comprehend the meaning of such things.
When reading prophecy, such as the kind in D&C 101, Jacob 5, Isaiah, Revelation, etc., the Lord can help us to formulate the questions to ask Him what to do. It is not meant to be perfectly clear. We must learn to receive personal revelation.

Will these prophets interact with / receive support from the LDS church or other churches during the upcoming events, or will they be acting independently on authority received from the Lord?

  15. They will act independently receiving direction from the Lord. They will come in contact with many people of various churches including the LDS.

It is the position of some people, loosely interpreted from several verses in the Doctrine and Covenants and elsewhere, that Joseph Smith (either resurrected or condescended) has a future role to play, in the flesh, among the gentiles in the great work of gathering. Are you able to comment on this idea? Along those same lines, will there be another called to preach repentance IN POWER to the gentiles, or has the gentiles opportunity to accept the fullness already past?

  18. There has been a specific effort during the Times of the Gentiles to preach repentance to all the children of men. The new coming effort is focused upon the gathering of the House of Israel. This will come from the four corners of the earth to all nations, as the Elect (those who made the Everlasting Covenant before birth) are gathered and prepared to come to the Holy City. Joseph Smith, as a dispensational head, now officiates over the Principalites. This is an important role which all dispensation heads do as they see to the preparations of the House of Israel on the other side of the veil. He has a role, but it is not here in the flesh.

  21. Justin Wentzell says:

Could you please elaborate on the “higher priesthood of Melchizedek?” My understanding is that this is referring to either the Patriarchal Priesthood, or a fullness of the Priesthood, etc. It basically unlocks more than authority to direct – which we have now – but power to act (ie: more gifts of the spirit and eventually the sealing power). Thanks.

  22. As most know, all priesthood comes from the same, but is divided according to the level we can use. The names we assign mean little. The Higher Priesthood is sometimes called Patriarchal, but is as much Matriarchal. To have the fullness is to be omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.

Are we yet in the sixth dispensation, awaiting Adam-ondi-Ahman? There is a common belief among my friends that the seventh seal was opened with the dedication of the Palmyra Temple on April 6, 2000; this is due to what President Hinckley is rumored to have said privately while there. [The April 6th reference is incorrect, but I do not have permission to give the date of the opening of the seventh seal. PR]

Are you able to say if the opening of the 7th seal has already happened or yet to occur? Was it, or will it, be connected to a feast day? Thank you! Adam ondi Ahman is the place where the Seventh Dispensation begins, but there is an overlapping of the sixth and seventh before the great tribulations begins. PR]

PR- have you or your wife experienced revelation overload? The only way to explain what I’m trying to say is my brain is like a computer program that keeps updating itself daily with new information I’m supposed to search out with pure, honest intent which I am but oh so drained. I need to ask you something really important and hope this forum is the proper place to do so. If not, no reply is needed. Can you elaborate further on the correlation between light and knowledge regarding pure plasma and glory? I could use some wisdom right now! Thank you my friend! M [I have had to pace myself at times. The Lord will give me what I can bear and I come back later. When I feel overwhelmed I ask for it to stop and He so graciously obliges my weakness. Plasma is the physical manifestation of light and knowledge, but it is even more refined than this. Light is glory, which is the key to all knowledge according to our faith. PR]

To take off from FireWalk’s question, (& this is probably a really dumb question), there is no period of time for the last dispensation once it begins, correct? It last forever? [At the end of the Millenium is the next dispensation. Yes, there is more. PR]

  28. SoGrtful says:

I’m sorry, but there are more dispensations of time? Like a 9, 10, and so on? I only ask because when I think of “dispensations,” its in terms of a beginning and an end until the next one. As you say, “There are eight major dispensations,” which connote an end of the 8th. (thanks for your help). [I know there is another dispensation at the end of the Millennium called the Dispensation of the Coming of the Great God. I do not knowthe details for the coming dispensations after that, but God’s work never ends. He takes a period of rest and like the Sabbaths, a new week begins. PR]

  30. Dr. Douglas Dean says:

Above, you said, “The priesthood which will be restored in the Seventh Dispensation is the higher priesthood of Melchizedek. This is required to usher in the Times of the Gathering of Israel and establishment of Zion.”

D&C 110:14-15 States that “Elijah should be sent before the great and dreadful day of the Lord–to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curse.”

I have some questions about what Elijah restored or restores is related to the Sixth and Seventh Dispensations:

    1. This “turning of hearts” is often interpreted by people in the LDS church to have begun in 1836. But a careful reading of section 110 suggests Elijah will do the turning of hearts in the Seventh Dispensation before the destructions, right? [The turning of the hearts is the living generation turning their desires toward building Zion as was the Fathers. This began in Joseph’s day and has continued since then. PR]

    2. Did Elijah restore something in 1836 that helped in the sixth dispensation? That is, did he restore something to support genealogy and temple work as we are commonly taught in the LDS church? Or, is Elijah’s “turning hearts” really only happening in the Seventh Dispensation? [It was the time for the beginning of the 4th estate to make their return and prepare the 2nd estate to receive Zion. All would be lost without it. Elijah administers over the 4th estate from the other side of the veil. PR]

    3. What is the turning of the hearts really talking about? I have heard vague and unconvincing explanations in church, but I don’t think it is the complete, real story. [As I said above. PR]

    4. Does Elijah restore priesthood or keys in the future related to opening of the 7th dispensation? Or is it more specific than just opening the dispensation? Is it that he is involved in restoring the keys or priesthood related to translation that is so important to the gathering? [Elijah prepares the 4th estate to administer the keys they already possess. The Davidic Servant will lead them forth, those that are here in the flesh. PR]

    5. Does the “turning of hearts” between fathers and children have an important roll in the millenium after the gathering? If so, are you at liberty to tell us a bit about it? [It simply is the desire and understanding to prepare Zion and gather the Elect before the Lord’s coming. PR]

  31. Dr. Douglas Dean says:

Thank you so much! This answers the questions nicely.

The heading summary of D&C section 110, that refers to what Elijah did states “Elijah returns and commits the keys of his dispensation as promised by Malachi.” But that is not what is being described at all.

Based on your explanation, D&C 110:14-15 is basically an announcement, at that time, saying that Elijah will work with the 4th estate servants to start doing their work at that time. Elijah’s work with these workers means that Zion will be established and the gatherers will do the work. Talk about important! Too bad that what this really means has been so obscured by those in the church.

After reading your explanation, I turned to Joseph Smith’s history of the church 1:36-40, and those scriptures also finally make sense:

36 After telling me these things, he [the heavenly messenger] commenced quoting the prophecies of the Old Testament. He first quoted part of the third chapter of Malachi; and he quoted also the fourth or last chapter of the same prophecy, though with a little variation from the way it reads in our Bibles. Instead of quoting the first verse as it reads in our books, he quoted it thus:
37 For behold, the day cometh that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly shall burn as stubble; for they that come shall burn them, saith the Lord of Hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
38 And again, he quoted the fifth verse thus: Behold, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
39 He also quoted the next verse differently: And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers. If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming.
40 In addition to these, he quoted the eleventh chapter of Isaiah, saying that it was about to be fulfilled.

So the priesthood that Elijah reveals, talked about in verse 38, is the Davidic servant and the 4th estate beings who hold the priesthood keys to do their saving work. They motivate the people in the last day to want to establish Zion. Also, they safely gather the second estate beings to the gospel and to Zion. Thus those people who are rescued are saved from the burning that occurs during the conflict before Christ comes and the spiritual burning that occurs when Christ comes again with the hosts of heaven [“for they that come shall burn them {the unsaved} up” ].

Isaiah 11, another scripture quoted by the heavenly messenger describes what the Davidic servant will do and that a paradisiacal glory will result, so that ties in nicely.

What a joy to finally understand the meaning of these essential scriptures!

Regarding your answer to Dr. Dean’s #2 above, when you say, “…4th estate to make their RETURN and prepare the 2nd estate…,” is that in reference when you talked about the 4th estate helping new spirit children in the premortal world, teaching them the virtues, etc? Then the 4th estate perhaps were among the first to help those children in the 1st dispensation, and now, the 4th estate and perhaps at least some of those children are here again in the end times, so in that way, they are returning? Perhaps we are all returning? Hence, another aspect of first-last, last-first scenario? -Stan- [Yes. PR]
